Espoo - Capgemini Finland Oy, part of the Capgemini Group, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has announced a new long-term contract with Outokumpu Oyj, a global leader in stainless steel, to deliver enhanced infrastructure services that support Outokumpu´s IT sourcing strategy.
The new contract covers the implementation of a service integration and management (SIAM) function, which brings all processes and instructions under a single governance model, and the provision of world-class Global Service Desk services with the main objective of ensuring business continuation.
Capgemini will work with Outokumpu to establish a service integration capability that will ensure that the IT services provided by multiple vendors will operate effectively together to deliver the best possible support for the global leader in stainless steel operations globally. Capgemini´s expertise will help Outokumpu to manage the multi-vendor ecosystem to provide the IT end-users with seamless and high-quality services.
Capgemini´s Intelligent Service CentreTM has a centralised view of all service requests by Outokumpu end users. Service metrics, linked to business processes, are set up based on this data, and analytics are used to identify new ways of decreasing the incidents and processing times of service requests which will increase the end user satisfaction.
“Outokumpu has been standardising and industrialising its IT services and service provisioning during the last years. Outokumpu needed a partner that can re-invent the end-user contact by driving business continuation, incident reduction and maximised resolution speed. Outokumpu also needed to build a capability that can drive seamless cooperation between the service providers in our eco-system. We believe Capgemini's experience, business focus and new ways of thinking in these areas made them the right choice in supporting Outokumpu with these objectives,” says Patrik Ekström, CIO of Outokumpu.
“We are delighted that Outokumpu decided to establish this collaboration with us. With our proven ability to manage multi-vendor IT environments on behalf of large multinational companies, and our collaborative approach, we will empower Outokumpu to benefit effectively from their global multi-vendor strategy and ensure seamless IT services supporting their business objectives,” says Petteri Uljas, CEO of Northern Europe Infrastructure Services unit at Capgemini.
