Seven-year outsourcing contract will enhance service and cost-effectiveness

House of Fraser, the UK and Ireland’s premium department store, is to outsource its IT support to Capgemini UK plc in a comprehensive seven-year contract that takes effect this month. The contract covers management of data centre services, applications support and development, service desk, desktop support and third party services. It also includes network services, which will be provided by Capgemini under a sub contract agreement.

House of Fraser says that its decision to outsource its entire IT Operations will give it improved access to the wide range of IT skills and capabilities required to support its business plans, a more cost-effective IT support operation, and considerable IT procurement and financing benefits.

Capgemini was selected because of its extensive experience in providing IT support for some of Britain’s most prestigious retail names, its collaborative approach to working with its clients, and its Rightshore® delivery model, which aims to offer the right resources in the right location at competitive costs.

Greg Hyttenrauch, Chief Executive Officer of Capgemini Outsourcing UK, said: “House of Fraser is one of the most famous and prestigious names in UK retail, and I am delighted that they have chosen us for such a comprehensive range of services.
