Capgemini UK appoints its first Chief Digital Officer

Cliff Evans will spearhead digital services for national and global clients

London, 26th November, 2012 – Capgemini UK plc has appointed Dr Cliff Evans to the newly created position of Chief Digital Officer. His prime role will be to enable the company’s clients in all sectors to reap the maximum benefits from the new opportunities arising from today’s digital, online, social media and mobile technologies. The overall aim of his mission is to optimise the way client organisations work in a world of ongoing technological and social change

He is recognised as a thought leader in digital transformation, with a track record at Capgemini of initiating and delivering large-scale multi-channel digital programmes at a national and global scale for clients across several industry sectors. He created Capgemini’s Digital Services Orchestration framework for cloud services, Immediate, which underpins the delivery of large-scale digital services solutions for clients in the UK and overseas.

Cliff Evans moved to his new role from the post of Transformation Director for the defence and security sector, in which he successfully masterminded innovative change programmes for several clients including the UK Ministry of Defence. Before joining Capgemini in 2001 he held boardroom positions in multinational companies in the media industry.

He holds a PhD in aeronautical engineering from Bristol University and is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
