Capgemini recently announced the launch of Smart Analytics Service to utility companies worldwide.

Capgemini today announced the launch of Smart Analytics, its new business intelligence solution which provides an accelerated platform to help utilities gain the most value from the complex data generated in their organisation and by their Smart Grid and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) deployments. The solution enhances the speed of delivery of analytic portals by accelerating the development process for requirements definition, data modeling and related business logic.  It reduces the overall cost and risk of implementing business intelligence solutions within utility clients by leveraging Capgemini’s key partner alliances with Teradata Corporation and SAP AG for industry leading technology and domain expertise. 

Smart Analytics offers utilities analytical and reporting capabilities across functional areas and provides an integrated platform for the deployment of business intelligence. It pushes “actionable intelligence” to all levels of the organisation with role-based access and security.

Key benefits of these capabilities include:

  • Improved access to data and decision support in the form of interactive dashboards, reports and ad hoc query tools to analyse data from different business areas in a single integrated solution.
  • Operational monitoring and analytical solutions for programs such as Demand Response campaigns, Predictive Asset Maintenance, etc.
  • Pre-defined and extensible data models for utilities (uLDM) developed by Teradata® that ensure data accessibility and scalability while enabling reuse and documentation.

Smart Analytics is designed to assist utilities that are currently in the process of planning, deploying or operating their respective ‘Smart Grids’.
