  • March 4, 2014
  • Holborn, London
  • Capgemini, 40 Holborn Viaduct, London, EC1N 2PB

Time: 10:00 - 12:00

The 4th March marks the completion of the Higher Apprenticeship for Capgemini’s first ever cohort of apprentices.
This event will also launch the relationship that Capgemini has established with Aston University. The apprentices graduating on the 4th March will be the first Capgemini Undergraduate students to embark on their degree courses with Aston University and they will have the choice of undertaking either a Computer Software Development degree or a Business Information Management degree, both of which have been designed in conjunction with the business to specifically meet business need.

10.00 – Lance Doughty. Welcome our guests and introduction to the event – set the scene
10.10 – Graham Cassford. What impact has the Higher Apprentices programme had on the business?
10.20 – Dame Julia King. The new relationship between Capgemini and Aston University
10.30 – My Life as an Apprentice. 4 apprentices have prepared a short video to give an insight into what their journey has been like over the duration of the apprenticeship. We will then split into break-out sessions where the apprentices will present about their journey for 5 minutes and there will be the opportunity to ask questions. We will also be creating a video throughout the day to fit into the national initiative of ‘Bring Your Parents to Work Day’. The idea is designed to give parents and external people a better understanding of what apprentices do and so this piece will play into the national inactivate.
11.15 - Coffee and cake. A chance for apprentices to talk to their parents, people from the business and Aston University. We will also be filming during this time and creating content for the ‘Bring your Parents to Work’ video.
11.30 - Presentation of certificates
11.40 – Ian Nabney. Life as an Aston University Undergraduate
11.50  – Christine Hodgson. Congratulations to the Apprentices for all they have achieved and good luck in their endeavours in the future. What does it mean to Capgemini?
12.00 – Close
