The focus of your role

The Solution Director acts as a figurehead for the solution element of client proposals.  This includes ownership of technical, commercial and service elements of the overall proposition within a sales environment and the proposed transition into delivery.

What you’ll do

  • The Solution Director is a key client facing role in the sales and delivery cycle. An important part of the role is the management and motivation of the team including Commercial, Finance, HR, Service Management, Architects, Technical SMEs, Project Managers and Procurement specialists.
  • This role will also work closely with clients, partners and other business units to develop innovative and competitive solutions for new and existing clients leveraging a wealth of experience from at least one IT services/outsourcing provider.
  • The role is responsible for understanding the client’s business needs and clearly translating client requirements to ensure an overall solution is built using standard solution assets whenever possible and also assessing the need for non-standard components required to create a winning solution. 
  • The candidate will be expected to work as part of a sales team, working alongside the sales lead and directing members of bid team to deliver compelling client propositions and following the internal governance process.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in infrastructure outsourcing deals.
  • Strong client facing skills and a good listener.
  • Strong team building and team leadership skills.
  • A strong background in end to end infrastructure technologies and architecture, ideally from more than one company.
  • Proven experience of building solutions for a service provider.
  • Risk management.
  • Able to help shape transition and transformation strategies.
  • Business acumen to lead solution elements of the financial and commercial models. 
  • Good understanding of latest IT trends, hardware/software, and processes.
  • Excellent communication capabilities, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation skills for use with senior stakeholders in external organisations.
  • Broad understanding of the technology providers in this space.
  • Facilitation of workshops and meetings to develop client solutions.
  • Ability to put themselves in the client’s shoes.
  • Must be fully flexible and mobile across the UK for extended periods and potentially across the Capgemini Group.
