This position is primarily located in Telford. However, the successful candidate must be fully flexible as travel will be required.

A multi-million pound investment has recently been announced to transform our working environment in Telford. The result of which will be a world class Delivery Centre, and a flagship building for Capgemini in the region.

The Microsoft Delivery Group (MSDG) comprises a team of enthusiastic and dedicated software professionals.
We provide innovative solutions to our clients, and help them solve their business and technical problems by building new solutions or enhancing existing services.
We have an outstanding track record of delivering both Agile and Waterfall based solutions, and these include but are not limited to Mobile, Desktop, SharePoint, cloud based and Web Applications.
We also have significant experience of Office Automation, Workflow and Messaging, Web Services and Scripting technologies.

Our capabilities cover a wide variety of technologies, from Open Source technologies such as the Microsoft .Net Framework, ASP .Net MVC and Mono, plus SharePoint, MS Dynamics CRM and MS SQL Server. We are constantly investigating new technologies and relish a new challenge.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for experienced SharePoint Developers to join our team.

The focus of your role

The role of the SharePoint Developer in MSDG is primarily focused on developing and delivering solutions for both internal and external clients. This will include development of both client and server side software following recognised standards and patterns. With demonstrable experience in Agile software development, you should be a fully competent Designer/Developer with exposure to a range of additional technologies.

What you’ll do

• You will work within a multi-functional, Agile delivery team, building and enhancing solutions in accordance with the agreed development standards and definition of done within the team
• Your primary activities will include developing and configuring solutions in both SharePoint 2010, 2013 and SharePoint online (O365) by helping customers to improve the way they handle their information and content.
• To understand and demonstrate features of SharePoint and clearly articulate these to clients and colleagues alike in a variety of business scenarios.
• You will undertake SharePoint migration methodologies from earlier versions of SharePoint or non-SharePoint solutions to SharePoint.
• You will select the right toolset for each challenge using InfoPath, SharePoint Designer and Visual Studio.
• You will be expected to cooperate with government security checks for certain types of projects (SC & DV clearance)

What you’ll bring

To get the most from this role you'll have:
• A background in delivering solutions with a strong User Experience element as we seek to improve the way our customers interact with the information they hold in SharePoint.
• You will have project experience or heightened technical knowledge of Cloud applications and specifically of developing Cloud / O365 ready business applications / solutions in SharePoint.
• You will have knowledge of Content Management concepts such as Document and Records Management, Content Migration and collaboration.
• You will have awareness of Information Architecture principles and will be able to adopt these in any of the solutions that are built.

• Able to follow best practice
• Knowledge of the SharePoint API
• Worked with the SharePoint App model to build applications
• SharePoint Design Manager experience and SharePoint 2013 / SharePoint online theming
• SharePoint Designer Workflows
• Code Analysis
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• JavaScript and popular libraries E.g. JQuery
• Ability to produce technical documentation
