Oracle’s move to the Cloud, there push on Engineered Systems and continued acquisition strategy is creating new opportunities within our Clients to take their current IT Systems to the next level. As one of the largest Independent Oracle Consulting Practices in the UK, Capgemini is at the forefront of delivering these innovative solutions - we understand that core to our Clients is the ability for our Consultants to articulate and implement these leading edge IT solutions to resolve their complex business and technical problems. As such we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Oracle Applications DBAs.

As an example, some of our team members work four days a week, but travel across the UK during their working days. If you are the right person for this role, we’ll find the right working approach for you.

The focus of your role

As a DBA Consultant, you will take on the application, database and systems deployment responsibilities on our large scale Oracle programmes. Increasingly, our Oracle programmes include a significant breadth of technologies such as cloud based Fusion Applications, Hybrid Cloud deployments, Oracle E-Business Suite, Web Logic Server, Oracle IDM, Oracle SOA and OBIEE.

What you'll do

  • You will work on our multi-million pound highly complex and challenging Oracle implementations and upgrade projects.
  • You will get the opportunity to work with the very latest technologies including Exadata / Exalogic and other Engineered System Products.
  • You will also gain exposure to cloud based Fusion Applications and VM technologies. 

What you'll bring

  • You will have proficient O/S skills (LINUX, UNIX and / or WINxx and a solid knowledge of Oracle database features such as Clustering (RAC), ASM, DataGuard.
  • Some previous experience of the Oracle E-Business Suite R12 deployments in more complex and challenging environments (i.e. Load balanced, large scale systems)
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • You must be able to gain UK government (SC) or Police Security Clearance (NPPV)
