Who you’ll be working with

Our Application Development & Integration (AD&I) Delivery Unit specialises in agile custom software development and integration at an enterprise scale.

With circa 380 people delivering to high-profile 39 clients, our capabilities cover a wide variety of Open Source and proprietary technologies with a strong focus on Java and Microsoft.

Focus of your role.

You will be joining our practice as a Java DevOps Engineer with the focus to deliver in some of the largest, most innovative enterprise digital projects I the UK and around the world. You will think of infrastructure as code, dream of automation, plan for failure and enjoy taking large systems and scale them out.

What you’ll do

Your passion for Java DevOps will enable you to deliver on large scale digital projects by:

• Collaborating with colleagues on unique challenges at scale
• Building out new environments from scratch as required by the business
• Creating and maintaining test suites using CI/CD tools
• Participate with software engineers on process improvement
• Troubleshooting issues as they arise

What you’ll bring

To get the most out of this role you’ll have:

• A Java / JVM server-side, distributed-systems developer heritage
• Linux system administration, scripting and automation skills (Bash, Jenkins, Groovy, Ruby, Python, etc…)
• Experience in full automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible or Puppet
• Experience in supporting production applications on AWS or other similar cloud technologies
• Understanding of HTTP and web service technologies such as REST
• Experienced in Scrum and agile
• Developed reusable code and are comfortable working in multiple languages
