Who you'll be working with

You will join a creative and diverse team who play a valued role in translating business strategy and organisational priorities into tangible communications deliverables. The team, which consists of a number of Internal Communications Consultants and a small team of graphics experts, report into the Communications Manager. The team culture is supportive and open – we work in an agile fashion to collaborate effectively and work as efficiently as possible. This means flexibility is key; being adaptable and open, and seeing the success of the team as more important than individual pursuits.

The focus of your role

As an Internal Communications Consultant (ICC), you combine being creative with a strong work ethic to support effective delivery of business objectives and communications plans. You are a natural wordsmith. You will join our Internal Communications Team to play an integral role supporting Capgemini in its delivery of IT services for HMRC through employee engagement and compelling internal communication campaigns. The work is varied and there is plenty of it! You will be meeting with your internal stakeholders on a regular basis to consult on their communications challenges and opportunities; you will proactively seek content for news stories and newsletters; react to urgent requests for business critical communications; and work with the design team to create high quality collateral.

What you'll do

• Implementing integrated and actionable internal communications plans to convey company strategy, explain and reinforce business practices, support cultural change, and communicate people-related initiatives and issues to internal audiences.
• Supporting business areas and project teams with internal communication activities in-line with internal communications strategy.
• Ensuring good relationships are built and maintained with internal clients through the use of exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Reviewing, measuring and evaluating our internal communications practices, platforms and activities.
• Writing and editing of stories, announcements and presentations to directly support business objectives and bring our vision to life.

What you'll bring

• You will demonstrate a drive to achieve, show enthusiasm for your work and commitment to delivery excellence.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to discern key messages and distil complex business concepts and technical information into audience-specific communications.
• Be able to write compelling copy and experience of developing strategic plans.
• Have experience of integrated communications planning, evaluation and execution methods.
• Have knowledge of emerging digital/social media tools to support internal communication.
• Possess strong presentation and stakeholder management skills and an ability to work confidently with senior colleagues to recommend communications messaging and tactics.
• Have strong consulting and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, engage and communicate at all levels of the organisation.
• Hold a First Class or 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing-related subject – or a demonstrable level of employment experience.
