Who you’ll be working with

We’re looking to recruit a DV Cleared Data Analyst (*note you must be DV cleared to be able to be considered for this role) to join our Analytics delivery team based in London. You’d be joining Capgemini’s Insights & Data Group and would work closely with our clients to solve given business or system problems in a wide number of industry sectors.  Our Data Analysts use their skills in data manipulation, modeling, applied statistics and business analysis across our clients estates working with our Capgemini Big Data, Data Science and Data Visualisation teams to deliver world class solutions.  You would be part of an international community of Data Analysts who collaborate and share knowledge to provide our clients access to a wealth of solutions to their business problems.

The focus of your role

Our Data Analysts work very closely with our Big Data, Data Science and Data Visualisation teams, providing first-hand experience of the business problems, knowledge of data, the techniques best applied to resolve business challenges and best ways to ‘story-tell’ outcomes to all levels of business stakeholders.  Our clients can be small local authorities to global conglomerates.  Each has their own unique and sometimes similar business challenges.  Our Data Analysts are at the heart of solving these problems applying their industry knowledge and Data Analysis expertise to help unlock and translate data into true business benefit.

What you’ll do

  • Working as part of a combined engagement team that, for example, includes data engineers,data scientists, visualisation analysts, architects, business consultants and the client.
  • Collaborating across the team with data analysts on other engagements, and coaching otherteam members in your areas of expertise
  • Engaging with our clients’ staff to develop use cases and share the insights you discover
  • Developing the Data Analysts capabilities you create into live services for our clients
  • Researching statistical and business techniques to resolve business challenges introducing
  • New capabilities to the Analytics practice.

What you’ll bring

  • Either have a deep industry understanding (e.g. in Telcos or Retail) or a good general level of business knowledge across a number of industries
  • Good business analysis skills and proven experience in this area
  • Hands on experience of importing, cleaning, transforming, validating and modelling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes
  • Understanding of database designs and non-database designs (eg Hadoop)
  • Designing and building business reports
  • Good communications skills able to communicate at all levels (technical and managerial)
  • Understanding of basic statistical methods
  • Good knowledge of data programming logic (e.g., SQL, SAS Datastep, R, Python, Perl)
  • Working knowledge of a commercial or open source statistical package (eg, SAS, SPSS, R-Studio, Rapidminer)
  • Team-player and work on own initiative
  • Good communicator
  • Customer facing
  • Experience of delivering data analyses in any of the following domains:
    • Local/Central Government
    • Consumer Products & Retail
    • Telecommunications
    • Energy & Utilities
    • Pharmaceuticals, healthcare or social sciences
    • Agile working practices
    • Business analysis
