Account Exec, Aerospace & Defence
Who you’ll be working with
n Application Services, we combine our leading Application Outsourcing and Application Development capabilities and expertise to create a seamless end to end service for our clients. We have brilliant cross-sector experience and a huge range of offers which we bring to market, including Applications Management, Business Process Management, Business Intelligence and Testing.
Aerospace & Defence represents about a third of the Private Sector in Capgemini’s Applications business in the UK. It is the home for large corporates that are transacting business either in the aerospace industry or in the secure defence sector. It supports some of Capgemini UK’s largest strategic accounts.
The focus of your role
You will be responsible for driving sales across the account(s) you will be assigned. You will be brand ambassador promoting Capgemini and our offers in the market and will build relationships with clients and IT Services partners.
Although this is not a new logo sales role, the Account Management role is sales focused and quota bearing - profitable growth forms the primary performance measure. P&L management experience is important as is creating new, innovative solutions to solve business problems for our clients.
What you’ll do
Working closely with Sector & Delivery Unit Management teams, you will be responsible for creating and driving your own pipeline, in line with overall business strategy and direction. You will be familiar with the various sources of demand – how to identify them, nurture them and be responsible for building an active pipeline of prospective deals.
Your focus will be on Applications Development and Applications Management deals involving multiple technologies. You will be focused on ensuring the profitability of the account(s) you are responsible for and driving growth. You will have the ability to both create and drive opportunities to closure.
You will be an expert in demand generation activities that are relevant to this market segment and will play a lead role in devising strategies to promote Capgemini in these forums with tangible business results.
Individually you will have accountability for improving Capgemini’s credibility within target clients in the market. You will both frame and drive business opportunities, leveraging the Applications Delivery teams.
You will be able to understand complex Capgemini business propositions and use them to guide client conversations, as well as switching between issue discovery and proposition qualification.
What you’ll bring
To get the most out of this role, you will have:
• Recent experience working for a Large Tier-1/2 Global IT or Consulting organisation in Sales or Business Development in one of the following: Aerospace & Defence, Manufacturing, Telecommunications or Oil & Gas
• A good network of contacts built up in other IT organisations you will be able to leverage for advantage
• Exceptional focus on all aspects of P&L management and reporting at both a pursuit and client level
• You’ll be creative and innovative, with the gravitas required to lead very senior business meetings to position and close deals and the ability to constructively challenge the status quo when necessary to drive forward the business
• You will be a self-starter who is able to work independently as well as being part of a team.
