Capgemini’s TravelWell programme won the Sustainability Transport & Travel category at the Sustainable Leaders Awards in London last week
Capgemini faced some strong competition in this category including TUI Travel, Sustrans and The Co-Operative. However, it was the overwhelming success of and multi-faceted approach to the programme that made TravelWell stand out.
In a category focused on sustainability, our carbon reduction target specifically related to business travel was key and TravelWell was applauded for being an initiative that is not only saving money, but enabling staff to have a better work-life balance.
At the ceremony, the judges applauded the “far reaching programme” adding that Capgemini has “shown immense commitment to achieving meaningful cultural change in often what is a sensitive area of business travel. The scale and complexity of the measurement criteria appear to have been delivered across a diverse audience to deliver outstanding reductions in carbon impacts. It’s a really great programme and it actually does deliver against total turnover.”

Tony Deans, UK CFO, Capgemini and executive sponsor of the TravelWell programme, said: “TravelWell is a programme that doesn’t stand still. We continue to evolve the programme, introducing innovative updates on a regular basis. Awards such as this validate our approach and demonstrate that we are leading the way. We are very proud of what we have achieved to warrant this award.”
