Combining business and security: The Adaptive Security Index

Capgemini in association with Cisco Systems designed the Adaptive Security Index.  Intended for the Executive Committee and for IT Directors, the Adaptive Security Index highlights what needs to be done to ensure the correct balance between security, expenditure and return on investment (ROI) for each individual enterprise. It is a methodology for measuring the effectiveness of enterprise security.

Individual enterprises can match their expenditure to risk. Unlike other methodologies that often focus solely on the technical aspects of security, our Adaptive Security Index measures an organisation’s approach to security using two points of reference – mindset and security. This is delivered at the overall business level not just within the IT Department.

The Adaptive Security Index in the Real World

Capgemini has applied the Adaptive Security Index by conducting a major survey of 270 companies from North America and Europe. The results provide a snapshot of the current state of information security effectiveness around the world. Our Index is a barometer of business attitudes to security, showing both where things stand and what needs to be done to improve security.
