Monster mergers
Martin Williams, now a Capgemini consultant, saw the Royal Bank of Scotland-Natwest merger at first hand while looking at RBS. Even though RBS was the smaller bank, the merged company used its systems because they worked off a lower cost model, recalls Williams.
