Data Centre Services

You are in: Services We Provide

Capgemini’s data centres are among the most secure and flexible in the world. Designed to accommodate both the current and future requirements of clients, our managed services are highly automated and standardised. We take contractual responsibility for the continuous management of infrastructure - from basic data centre provision, to real-time off-site storage, dual-centre service delivery and scaleable on-demand services.

We focus both on reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) and simultaneously improving service quality. By investing in flexible architectures and best practice processes - following the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service management principles - we guarantee consistent service, high availability and resilience. Fully automated Server Lifecycle Management prevents many potential problems arising, and where there are issues, they are quickly identified by ongoing performance monitoring, and resolved by on-site and out of hours support staff.

Foundation Services move existing infrastructure to a Capgemini data centre, so clients pay less and receive a consistent level of service, whether for Unix, Mainframe, NT, AS/400, VMS, Linux, Tandem or Stratus technologies. Service management covers the network, vendors and assets, storage, disaster recovery and security - every aspect of server management including the operating system, infrastructure and application software

Developed Services transfer technology onto scaleable Capgemini infrastructure. In addition to the Foundation Services, clients benefit from capacity planning and performance modelling which determine the right capacity on demand model for IBM mainframe and IBM, HP and Sun Unix, and for adaptive utility storage.

Advanced Services for business critical systems and clients who are changing their architecture focus on the most innovative data centre solutions, which can be paid for on a shared risk and reward basis, so that charges are determined by business benefit. We use business modelling to help determine how clients can harness advancements in technology – like server consolidation to achieve a more flexible and cost effective infrastructure, and the requirement for dual site resilience and recovery.
