The Capgemini IMRG e-Retail Sales Index revealed that Britons spent over £4.8 billion online in July. Wet weather boosted
online clothing sales in July while electrical sales also soared, despite pressures
on disposable income.
Mike Petevinos, Head of Consulting for Retail at Capgemini UK, comments:
“Gloomy market conditions have not dampened consumers’ appetite for shopping online. Online sales continue to show strong growth, particularly when compared to the tough trading conditions on the high street.”
Mike has spent the last 9 years advising clients on their most significant strategic questions and supporting them in launching and delivering enterprise-wide programmes to help them fulfil their ambitions.
