Organisation and Effectiveness

You are in: Services We Provide

In the past five to ten years much of IT management’s effort has been spent on improving the cost effectiveness of IT through the centralisation of IT power, harmonisation of systems (to take advantage of global synergies) and through outstourcing. Today, these improvement areas are still important, however to enable business excellence CIOs need to focus on delivering cost efficiency, business flexibility and revenue generation through a more holistic approach to IT governance, IT organisation and IT processes.

Capgemini specializes in supporting IT organisations to deliver both cost efficiencies and improved business flexibility through a comprehensive Organisation and Effectiveness framework, which guides both the business and IT to develop and implement appropriate solutions for their key IT organisational challenges. At Capgemini we firmly believe that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach to delivering organisational effectiveness.

Our Organisation and Effectiveness network within the Business and Information Strategy practice (BIS) has a track record in helping companies to realise their business objectives through redefining the strategic importance of the IT organization. Our methodology to ensure success redefines the strategic remit of the IT organisation, through:

  • Enabling business agility – The IT organisation develops, owns and maintains the governance structure within which the business can use IT to develop new concepts, propositions, client and user-interaction
  • Initiating innovation – The IT function is responsible for creating the systems and processes that will enable business innovation, in particular with reference to customer facing application areas
  • Increasing intimacy – Between the business and IT as the IT literacy of the business user increases and hence is able to work collaboratively with IT in identifying and developing solutions. The role of the IT function is therefore one of an enabler.
  • Developing new sourcing models - While increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the retained IT organisation.
