The steps of our methodology include:

Step 1 - Project Initiation

We agree project roles and responsibilities, implement our standard project office procedures for progress monitoring, risk and issue management, deliverable management etc and hold a project kick off event

Step 2 - Solution Definition / Blueprint

This stage will provide the foundation for the Programme – a “Blueprint”. We work with you in joint teams to ensure the design reflects your requirements while bringing in external challenge and new ideas.

Step 3 - Solution Development / Realisation

The project team refines the integrated Oracle / SAP solution. The solution is further configured in appropriate development and test environments in order to develop processes and procedures, customisations and organisational performance levels that support the future state solution.

Step 4 – Implementation / Cutover

The developed solution is tested; training delivered; data migration rehearsals completed and technical infrastructure built. The deployment plan is then kicked-off.

Step 5 – Post Implementation Support

The responsibility for operations is transferred from the project team to the operational team and any relevant legacy systems are decommissioned.

Defence Manufacturing Client

The client transformed their business into a programme managed organisation to run their large programmes over the contract lifecycle of up to 25 years. Capgemini worked with the client to transform their business using the Oracle eBusiness Suite as the basis for this, creating a project centric solution. The benefits achieved included ensuring a single version of the truth for all reporting, especially financial data which is managed via the programmes and projects of work controlled through the Oracle Projects solution.

National Media Client

The client were transforming their operations and refreshing the underlying technology that supported these. As a result Capgemini were able to provide a finance package solution that used a services oriented architecture approach to provide end to end services and encompassed the new operating model, e.g. shared services, centres of excellence. The client was able to achieve cost savings around the deployment of financial reporting, moving from traditional pull report production to a push report production with a improved data interrogation capability, backed up with standardised processes and consistent financial information.

Multi National Telco and Retail Client

The fast moving nature of this industry meant that the client needed to refresh their current finance package solution. Capgemini were able to design anew solution that ensured the business could implement a new operating model that supported their transformation agenda and provided consistent financial information, making key finance processes more efficient and standardised to ensure that the major business units reported quickly and consistently.

Local Authority

The client required a solution to meet their current needs and also set them up for the future transformations that would be brought about by recent changes to local government requirements, e.g. Comprehensive Spending Review 2011 (CSR11). Capgemini were able to implement a finance package solution that provided a base for the future changes and provide a roadmap to allow the authority to increase their efficient and effectiveness.
