Capgemini’s relationship with EMC goes back to 2002 when we began offering a joint pay-as-you-grow storage service for companies. Several generations of technology later, we continue to offer a shared storage service whereby our clients simply pay for and use the amount of storage they need, and capacity can be scaled up or down whenever they like.

We take care of the technical side and the network links, and our clients pay according to how much they use. It’s a very attractive option compared to the costs and complexity of owning an in-house storage area network, and we’ve extended the concept to on-demand data backup and recovery as well. You get a fully flexible choice of multiple storage solutions, without having to make the upfront investment, and are freed from worries about licensing, maintenance and environmental costs.

We also build solutions in partnership with EMC, helping companies transform their business. Capgemini’s information management system skills and understanding of how businesses work, combined with EMC’s technologically advanced offerings, mean we can help you make the most of your data assets.

In December 2009 EMC acknowledged the quality of our professional services and our ability to scale solutions to fit customers’ needs by declaring Capgemini to be EMC’s partner of the year. The award recognises our work both in the UK and globally – we have handled major projects with EMC in Canada, the US and France, and we have another shared service centre in the Netherlands with a substantial investment in EMC technologies.
