Telcos and the Low Carbon Economy: an opportunity for today, not a burden for tomorrow
Many telcos have yet to realise just how big an opportunity the low-carbon economy (LCE) represents for them. It’s not just that there’s growing pressure from domestic and corporate consumers to become green. While developed markets show flat or declining revenue per user, the global market for low-carbon goods and services looks set to grow rapidly. Taking the right steps now will give a telco a major commercial advantage, as well as helping to contribute to society’s aims.
To gain credibility, companies first need to reduce their own carbon footprint. They must offer customers green products and services in all areas: fixed, mobile and broadband. Success will depend on building partnerships that make it possible to provide a comprehensive offering. Finally, telcos must embrace their role as enablers of the LCE, for example by helping to develop and run smart energy grids.
Capgemini can help your telco to become a cutting-edge provider in the LCE by working with you to:
- make sense of the product and service landscape, and understand where you fit in
- define your value proposition
- plan how to implement it with the right offerings at the right times
- design a partnering strategy that will enable success
