The Ministry of Defence has extended its contract with Capgemini to run the Defence Electronic Commercial Service. The public private partnership agreement is now set to continue until 2012, providing the interface between the MoD and its suppliers.
Cliff Evans, vice president of defence and identity management at Capgemini, said: “The DECS service has expanded considerably year by year in terms of transaction volumes, number of users and range of services provided, and I am confident that it will continue to do so. In this way, DECS is expected to enable MoD to realise further savings from back office functions to release money for re-investment in front line capabilities.”
