Europe’s utilities investing less in renewables, smart grid
The recession has cut power sales, and European utilities are investing less in renewable power and the smart grid as a result, even though they need to invest more to meet goals, Capgemini European Energy Markets Observatory report reveals.

European utilities are slowing down investments in smart grid and renewable energy projects in the face of a global recession – and that could make it harder for them to meet aggressive goals to expand in both categories in the coming decade or so, according to a the 11th annual European Energy Markets Observatory report.
