Croydon inks £83m deal with Capgemini

Capgemini has signed a new deal with Croydon Council for a further five-years in a deal worth an estimated £83m.

Croydon CouncilThe new deal between Capgemini and Croydon Council will see Capgemini manage the IT outsourcing deal until 2013. The new contract will see support provided all the council’s IT and telecoms infrastructure and networks, 4,000 desktop PCs and key business applications, including finance, procurement and customer service.

The Council stated that “the deal will enable significant investment in new technologies such as wireless network infrastructure, the upgrade of key business systems and hardware and a new council-wide geographic information system.” Nathan Elvery, Director of Finance and Resources at Croydon Council said the existing deal with Capgemini has already been key in helping the council achieve a “step-change” in IT effectiveness and overall business efficiency.
