MOD staff will now be able to access HR services online while in the field.
Created by Capgemini and Microsoft, the Internet Access to Shared Services (IASS) portal, will allow 10,000 staff personnel including troops to carry out a range of tasks including claiming expenses, updating personal details and booking training courses. The portal can be accessed via a PC, laptop or mobile phone.
David Longhurst, project leader at the MOD Internet Access to Shared Services project, said the MOD previously had “around 10,000 staff unable to access to our internal systems online from their place of work”.
