Millionaires defy the credit crunch as rich get richer

The release of the 12th annual World Wealth Report by Merrill Lynch and Capgemini revealed the 'dollar millionaires club' grew by 6%.

The 2008 World Wealth Report revealed that there are 10.1 million people worth in excess of $1m, who have managed to defy the credit crunch to increase thier wealth.

This year’s report showed that high net worth individuals (HNWIs) increased to $40.7 trillion. The UK houses around 5% of the global dollar millionaires.
