Dollar millionaire club 'expands'

The release of the 12th annual World Wealth Report by Capgemini and Merrill Lynch reveals there are 10.1 million people worth more than $1m.

The 2008 World Wealth Report has revealed that there are 600,000 more members of the global millionaires’ club than in 2007. The report released by Merrill Lynch and Capgemini also revealed that their combined wealth rose by 9.4% to $40.7 trillion.

The emerging markets of India, China and Brazil saw the biggest rise in the number of wealthy individuals.
