BI adapts to need for speed

Steve Jones, Head of Service-Oriented Architecture, Capgemini believes achieving real-time business intelligence (BI) is a realistic ambition.

With the recent acquisition of Spotfire by Tibco, Steve commented that “it was a purchase that made a lot of sense.”

Steve new comments goes on to state that real-time BI is a realistic ambition. “You need architectures that can do incremental summations rather than doing it one big hit. Eye-scanning and medical monitoring systems have to solve that problem for a niche today but it could be done more broadly.”

Steve Jones is the author of “Enterprise SOA Adoption Strategies”, a member of the OASIS SOA Reference Model and Open Group business architecture groups and regular presenter at various technology, business and SOA conferences.
