Capgemini UK’s Thought Leaders

Kevin Tomlinson

Vice President - Head of UK Outsourcing Services

Kevin joined Capgemini as part of an outsourcing contract from British Steel in 1996, where he was Operations Director for CMS (Central Managed Services). CMS had been outsourced to Capgemini, with Kevin taking the role of Transition Director, overseeing the successful transfer of nearly 400 people as well as the existing business. On completing the transition, Kevin leveraged this experience by becoming Programme Manager for a number of other large deals, including British Airports Authority (BAA) and British Rail Management Systems (BRBS), before joining the new global market unit for Transport & Travel.

After three years running a sector, Kevin took on responsibility for the trainline.com project, swiftly turning a small and unprofitable service into a successful business venture.

From here Kevin then built up Capgemini’s successful UK Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operation and managed the sale of the CRM capability to Vertex. The UK BPO business has been developed into the platform for Capgemini’s global back-office BPO service – now the fastest growing area of Capgemini.

Since mid-2001, Kevin has led Capgemini’s outsourcing business in the UK and Ireland. Between 2005-2006 he extended the industrialised outsourcing delivery model from the UK and the US into Capgemini’s central European business, where distributed RightshoreTM delivery is now firmly established.

An MBA, and all-round sports fan, when not indulging in a spot of golf, Kevin enjoys spending his spare time with family and friends.
