This project entails a benchmark on the online availability of a set of 20 basic public services for citizens and businesses in European countries. The objectives of this benchmarking are to enable Member States to compare performance, identify best practices and promote remedial action to stimulate eGovernment progress.
This benchmark has been executed on a repetitive basis. Results of the first measurement were delivered in October 2001, and the seventh measurement has been completed in September 2007. The first measurement covered 17 countries (15 EU Member States, plus Iceland and Norway). For the seventh measurement the scope has reached the 27 Member States, plus Switzerland and Turkey. This measurement features an updated methodology.
