London Connects 2008
Calum Macleod, Director, London Local Public Services, Capgemini will be debating with leading chief executives from local London councils on how to push the shared services debate forward.

London Connects 2008 is your chance to see the potential impact that technology
enabled public services can have on the city of London. With efficiency and ‘green’ issues at the top
of the agenda this year’s event promises to get to the heart of these issues and
provide the practical advice you need to improve the services you offer.
Over the past eight years, delegates from across London’s public service agencies and voluntary organisations have come together to share knowledge and experience and to hear the latest updates in policy and best practice from leading figures in the delivery of London’s services.
Calum will be speaking on a panel, which includes chief executives from local
London councils will discuss on as London develops more sophisticated strategic
partnership, are they meeting local area priorities. The panel will also look
at:
- How will they help councils and their partners deliver their 3% efficiency savings?
- What can we expect in terms of innovation and workforce reform?
- What lessons have we learnt to date about local service transformation?
Calum Macleod is Capgemini’s Director for London Local Public Services. Calum
has more than 10 years experience in consulting. He has led a wide range of advisory
and delivery projects within Local Authorities and for the CLG and worked for
most major Central Government departments, including DWP, NHS, MOD and OGC. Calum
is a supply chain and procurement specialist, with deep experience in leading
projects focused on improving efficiency and value for money.
Calum recently hosted a roundtable with five CIOs from leading councils in London
and the South-East about the major issues facing IT over the next three years.
