Influence of CIOs set to increase

New research released by Forrester highlights the trends for CIOs in 2008.
The outlook is positive with increasing resources for council IT departments and greater influence for chief information officers (CIOs).
The research points to IT chiefs facing a “fork in the road” that will see the top 15 to 20 per cent choosing to become more influential within the business.
Andy believes that there “is a huge opportunity for career advancement if CIOs can change the nature of their role to one focused on using technology to drive business.”
