Corus has awarded a five-year outsourcing contact worth £26 million to Capgemini,
taking the current contract until 2013. For the past ten years, Capgemini has
managed the mainframe operations vital for Corus operations around the world.
As part of the new contract, Capgemini will work with Corus to migrate exisiting IBM and Fujitsu mainframe services from Corus sites to Capgemini locations in the UK. Service managment and additional support will be provided from Capgemini locations in Poland and India.
Dean Freeman, Director of the IT Multisourcing programme at Corus, is very clear
on the reason why Capgemini were awarded the contract extension. “Capgemini was
able to demonstrate a terrific track record in running mission-critical IT for
major multinationals and key government departments,” Dean explained.
“They have also done excellent work for Corus over the last ten years and gained deep understanding of our business and IT needs, and all these factors, together with their convincing and cost-effective proposals, made them our first choice in awarding these important contracts.” Dean concluded.
