eSourcing Assessment
Issue This client was utilising an existing SAP procurement system, but considered that it was not realising the full benefits of the system. Capgemini was engaged to undertake a review of the client’s use of the SAP system, together with a wider eSourcing assessment.
Solution:
The Capgemini team created an eVision for the client’s procurement function and identified a range of improvement opportunities. These included a number of short-term improvements to make better use of the SAP functionality. Other major recommendations included the development of an eSourcing strategy combining strategic sourcing projects with the implementation of SAP B2B eProcurement functionality and fundamental organisational re-design to provide sustainable improvement in performance. Capgemini’s recommendations also included the rationalisation of SAP Master Data and the introduction of a range of electronic Market Place solutions to improve process efficiency and supplier development.
Results:
In terms of client benefits, this project identified around £250 million savings over a four year period.
