Transformation is designed to bring incisive new thinking to top-tier public sector executives on the key challenges they face. The topics we address – and the case studies of how other leaders have tackled the issue - are designed to help senior managers at a time when they are expected to deliver more, find efficiencies, be more customer focused and be more strategic in the way they manage. We intend Transformation to be a forum to share best practice.
Our contributors in this first edition include Sir Michael Barber, sharing insights on his time as Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit; Lord Geoffrey Filkin, previously a Minister for the DfES and DCA.
Transformation was formally launched at the Royal Automobile Club on Thursday 3 November at an event attended by a range of people from across the public sector. We were delighted that Cabinet Minister John Hutton was able to deliver the keynote speech at the launch.
Transformation will be overseen by an Editorial Board that will be independent and objective when selecting articles for the journal. Content will be selected with care, focusing always on its value to public sector senior managers. In future editions there will be articles from respected leading professionals who are among the top practitioners in their fields – each knowledgeable and passionate about their subject matters and all promoting innovative thinking in the public sector.
