Transformation Journal – edition 6

Now in its sixth edition, the latest copy, examines the theme of ambition in the public sector.

It looks at the ambition taking shape in UK cities, in the third sector and in local government. In central government, it chronicles how a team of Secretary of State, Permanent Secretary and Special Adviser (David Blunkett, Michael Bichard and Michael Barber) worked together to manage the interface between the political and managerial leadership to successfully act on ambition in government departments. The Endpiece by Matthew Taylor, provides a cautionary note; the future of the public sector reform may be a future designed by citizens, more fundamental than public sector leaders have been used to. This edition also features Capgemini’s Keith Coleman who is also the Chair of the Transformation Board and Graham Colclough on the Cities agenda.
