The big interview by Capgemini’s Keith Coleman examines how Bill Jeffrey, the Permanent Under Secretary of the Ministry of Defence has developed skills in the public sector. Bill Jeffrey is at the top of one of the largest and most unusual public sector organisations in the UK: the Ministry of Defence. Although not the leader of the armed forces, he is responsible for the civilians who support its work and for the procurement and project management processes that provide the armed forces with the equipment that they need.

One of the case studies features a virtual court, looking to the future and a way towards an integrated Justice system, recognising the work that Capgemini has carried out. Another case study looks at managing conflict inside organisations. Lastly, but not least, the case study on Royal Parks looks at the challenges of managing staff and an agency whose residents in the park include 1000 deer with a bloodline that goes back beyond Henry VIII.
