What does this mean for my career?
Bob Scott
Vice President Outsourcing Services
I joined Capgemini through outsourcing. In my immediate transfer from British Coal I completed my MSc in Operational Research at London School of Economics, funded by Capgemini (then Hoskyns). I subsequently became Head of the OR Practice.
Since then I’ve undertaken a number of programmes at the Capgemini University, the most beneficial was the International Business School (IBS in 1997). The IBS is personally supported by the groups CEO so its very high profile and gave me visibility of the Group’s strategic issues. It was an immense opportunity. Working on such an international programme enabled me to grow my internal network outside of the UK. I subsequently transferred to a number of global roles and was based in Paris for 2 years.
Now back in the UK, I recently undertook the ‘Leadership Challenge’. A management leadership programme driven from our outsourcing discipline, involving the captaincy of one of the BT Global Challenge yachts!
