Our People & Values

Our people

Our approach is described in our ‘People’s Charter’. In Capgemini, we believe that each and every professional is key to the success and sustainability of the Group. As a result, Capgemini offers an environment where all professionals can progress and develop their skills and competencies, collaborate with diverse professionals, contribute to the Group business goals through varied assignments and client’s relationships, share knowledge, and enjoy a rewarding career. This People Charter is designed to set the foundation for the relationship between the professional and Capgemini. Its aim is to bring consistency to the way we attract, motivate, develop and retain our people as well as in implementing people related matters across the Group.

Our values

At Capgemini we are proud of our values which are clearly expressed to our employees. We offer our employees exciting ways of working, and strive to provide an environment where everyone has the ‘freedom to be outstanding’.  It is our goal that all of our employees have a career and not just a job. We aim to:

  • Attract and retain the best clients and employees
  • Be the kind of company that excites its customers
  • Be the kind of company that people aspire to work for
  • Outgrow and out-pace our competitors through the talents of our people

Our values are core to our business. They relate to the way we work and the way we treat each other. As a company we have 7 values which are central to everything we do.

Our collaborative culture and derived behaviours

Capgemini’s culture is based upon respect for the individual, mutual support among professionals, and true cooperation. Our seven shared values are the cornerstone of our collaborative culture. Just as there are shared values upon which our culture is grounded, there are also certain behaviours we expect and encourage:

  • Constructive criticism : we promote an open dialog and encourage all individuals --regardless of level -- to challenge answers and create better or different solutions to a problem;
  • Collaboration ahead of competition: the best results are achieved by effective and collaborative work;
  • Clarifying instead of making assumptions: we will strive to develop exceptional listening and clarifying skills for all of our professionals;
  • Consistency over double standards: we promote the consistent personal attitude:

“I say what I do”

and

“I do what I say”

  • Teamwork instead of personal agendas: as a company, we fundamentally believe that collectively we are smarter than any one of us. We have even coined a phrase for what we hope will describe our cooperative working style: collaborattitude;
  • Teams rather than cliques and clans: we offer an environment where team-focused professionals can enhance their skills, share knowledge and enjoy a rewarding career;
  • Constant improvements vs. being inactive: true and differentiated success requires an absolute open mind and a willingness to discard the past when appropriate;
  • Pride without priding oneself: we encourage personal pride in collaborative achievements and acknowledge the equal value of the various disciplines as assets for the group.

What we expect from our people

In order for us to succeed in today’s challenging business climate, every Capgemini professional is expected to focus on developing his or her own capabilities, as well as to assist their colleagues in their personal growth. As part of our culture revitalisation, we expect our people to share our goals and help us to co-create. Our clients, alliance partners, press, and the business world as a whole must see us as embodying the Collaborative Business Experience. In turn, Capgemini will provide an environment where individuals have the “freedom to excel through the power of collaboration”.
