Successful apprentices gain all these qualifications:
- BSc Computing and IT Practice
- Level 4 Diploma in Professional Competence
- ITIL (foundation practitioner certificate)
- ICEB (Project Management)
- Prince 2
- Microsoft Certified Applications Developer status
To be eligible, you need:
- at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including maths and English
- to have or expect 3 A-levels, grades C or above, or equivalent (e.g. National BTEC with at least 1 distinction, or completion of a full IT-related Advanced Apprenticeship with work experience). A-levels are likely to include an IT-related subject (e.g. maths or science)
- demonstrable passion and capability in software development (e.g. you might have designed a website or a game)
- high analytical capability
- good oral and written communication
- good interpersonal skills
- self-motivation
- ability to work well as part of a team
- ability and willingness to travel to different offices and client sites after your first 3 months.
Note: this programme is designed for those with A-levels or equivalent, but no degree. We have a separate programme for those with GCSEs but no A-levels, and a graduate programme. Information about work experience opportunities can be found here.

What happens next?
If your application for a Higher Apprenticeship is shortlisted, you’ll be asked to complete a short telephone interview. If you’re successful there, you’ll be invited to an assessment centre consisting of an interview, a group exercise and some short aptitude tests.
We look forward to welcoming our new apprentices from the end of March 2012 onwards.
