Capgemini renews sponsorship of AFC Telford United
AFC Telford United has announced that Capgemini is renewing its sponsorship of the recently promoted Club. The three year contract was signed by David Boulter, CEO of Capgemini Aspire, today.
6 June 2007
AFC Telford has risen, like a phoenix from the ashes, since 2004, when the Club very nearly went into liquidation and was only saved in the nick of time by the loyalty of its supporters, Telford and Wrekin Council, several other partner agencies and Capgemini’s sponsorship pledge.
Much to the delight of supporters and sponsor, the last season saw AFC Telford United promoted to the Blue Square North division, the Club’s second promotion in three years.
Lee Carter, chairman of AFC Telford, sees the continued relationship with Capgemini as being of immense benefit to the Club and its local supporters, saying: “Capgemini has been a good friend to AFC Telford. Since 2003, the Club has gone from strength to strength and Capgemini’s support has contributed to our success.”
The re-signing coincides with the company’s announcement of the opening of a Prince’s Trust office in Telford, and secondment of their corporate social responsibility officer.
