Capgemini maintains a variety of recycling initiatives, as well as promoting an individually responsible approach towards recycling.
In concrete terms, we:
- provide recycling facilities for paper, aluminium, printer toners, etc.
- encourage double-sided printing and photocopying,
- ensure proper disposal of or recycling of IT and electronic equipment in accordance with local legislation,
- use appropriately licensed organisations to remove special waste (such as defective monitors or neon tubes).

Spotlight on Waste Management in the UK In the UK we are aiming to be responsible about our use of resources as well as reducing our waste. This is achieved where possible by making full use of our resources through reduction of use, reuse and recycling. We are aiming do this through a number of initiatives, for example: IT assets – We have introduced an IT asset reuse system. This includes donating refurbished assets to well managed and structured community schemes, selling the asset on to extend its usefulness or recycling them. Paper – All of our washroom paper and printing paper has high recycled content (80% for printing paper). Where possible we encourage our employees to avoid printing, print double side or consider other options such as scanning and emailing documents instead of making and sending another hard copy. Printer efficiency – A new printing system has significantly reduced the number of devices used, reducing the amount of power and toner consumed. Where there is no future need for a printer it is either redeployed or goes back to HP for reuse where possible. |
