The principles of social responsibility, stewardship, and sustainability are reflected throughout Capgemini’s long-standing business practices. These principles, including our shared values and ethics, guide our relationships with our clients, our employees, and the communities in which we operate. Our commitment to collaborative relationships with our clients and partners is mirrored by our focus on professional development and career growth for all Capgemini employees.
The United Nations Global Compact
In 2004, as a natural step in the evolution of our focus on corporate responsibility and sustainability, we joined the UN Global Compact. The member companies of this programme support and respect ten principles relating to human rights, the environment, labour rights, and anti-corruption.
We have adopted a pragmatic approach to monitoring our corporate responsibility, including commitments publicly documented in our annual report reference document. We recently published a formal code of ethics that embraces the principles of the Global Compact.
Environmental Sustainability
Although our impact on the environment is limited by the nature of our operations, we do take direct action to improve the environment, particularly in relation to our real estate and technology assets and to our employees’ business travel. Our environmental policy focuses on complying with local and international environmental legislation, taking environmental impact into account in CSR training programmes, raising employee awareness of these issues, and using environmental best practices within our sphere of influence.
Community Support
We have many ongoing community support projects, both locally and around the world, ranging from direct financial contributions to the extensive volunteer work undertaken by our employees.
Our most recent annual report contains additional information on our commitment to social responsibility.
